Minor Cuts and Laceration Repair Services
A laceration is a cut in the skin resulting from an injury. Small lacerations may be easily managed at home, but in many instances, a laceration may require professional medical attention. Our pediatricians will repair minor lacerations that arise which are beyond the scope of simple home treatment.
Contact us, or any emergency provider, immediately if the laceration is:
- Bleeding heavily and won't stop after 5-10 minutes of direct pressure
- Longer or deeper than a 1/2 inch
- Located on the face, especially if near the eye
- Resulting from a bite
- Shows infection signs like swelling, drainage, redness, and warmth
- Resulting from a puncture of a dirty or rusty object
- Leaving debris in the wound
- Resulting in excess pain
- Caused by any object wherein tetanus may be a concern
